Really informative and enjoyable tour. John had a passion for history and enormous knowledge and seemed delighted to chat about all sorts. Great starting point for a weekend break in York. Highly recommended.

We had a great guided walk with Frazer. Really informative, interactive and fun. AVG is doing a fabulous job. We take a guided walk every time we go to a new city. This was as good if not better than many of the paid walks that we have gone for.

Joanna our guide was so knowledgeable. There were a few sites that were closed for Christmas, so she took us on alternative routes, through snickelways and to other lesser-known places. The Dutch House was a highlight. Definitely recommend her to others.

Kevin Briggs guided us this morning. He was great! Passionate about the history of what he showed us & very informative. Made our two hours really worthwhile. Very special. Angelos & Helen

It is a well time spent. We walk through York from a historical point of view, which makes us appreciate the beauty of this town even more. We also want to give credit to our guide, Mel, for the kindness and generosity to share his knowledge about York.

Wet and windy day but Mick was there and took 6 of us on an interesting walk. He obviously loves York and disapproves of the way the Shambles has turned out. Some interesting nooks and crannies we went to.

Excellent tour with Helen. Just the right amount of information and pace and she was very knowledgeable about York and its history. Thoroughly recommended.

It was a wonderful tour with an excellent guide Louise. My only criticism was she walked too fast for the slower members of the group particularly in th busy shambles without anything to identify her eg a bright hat ,coat flag etc . It did not detract from the excellence of the tour but there was some anxiety from some members of the group they might get left behind

Helen, our tour guide this morning, made our walking tour enjoyable, and informative. We saw parts of York we wouldn’t have seen and would highly recommend this walking tour.

AVG Second time, about 20 join the walk tourJane spoke loud and clear to make everyone understand. I learned more about York history.She explained in detail about the Roman wall, bank Gates. After the tour, I visited the only Barbican which Jane told me the way. Thanks to Jane.

Kevin is a good guide. It was a little cold, so there was only a few of us. He spoke clearly, not difficult to understand for foreigners. He explained in details about Roman Fortress and the history of minster and monastory. Thank the Oxforder again for his service.

Went on the tour with Mike last Monday afternoon. It was very enjoyable and informative. Just the right pace and learnt so much about the history of York. We went to places we otherwise wouldn’t have known were there. Would recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you.

Neil Francis was my tour guide and he did such a brilliant job. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Definitely do this if you’re in the city.

We took the 1.15pm walking tour with Mike. Had a great time, our guide had expert knowledge on the history and culture of the city of York, as well as a good sense of humour too. Would highly recommend to visitors.

Had a very entertaining and informative 2 hour tour with Mel around York today. Mel’s knowledge of the history of the place was impressive and his humorous comments made the trip a delight, the highlight of our visit to the city.

This tour was one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Fraser is an excellent tour guide, sharing fascinating insights into the city’s history and culture. His sense of humour added to the enjoyment of the experience.

Nick gave us a great (over two hour) walk covering most of the city’s many attractions. Very inclusive and sensitive to his audience he added humorous and interesting details to the ‘standard’ tour and encouraged audience participation without pressure. rnThoroughly recommend the guides based on his performance.
