SCULPTURES DOWN THE SIDE OF THE ART GALLERY.

Does anyone know anything about the two stone slab sculptures down the side of the Art Gallery. They are on the right against the abbey walls just a few yards from the entrance gate. They appear to be tucked into an alcove, as if they had been forgotten or not wanted. The front one has some writing at the base but I have been unable to read it.
