A DIFFERENT KIND OF YORK TOUR
The Association of Voluntary Guides to the City of York has been welcoming visitors since 1951.
Our guides are trained local volunteers who give their time because they enjoy York, its history and sharing it with visitors from around the world.
There is no charge for our daily tours and no expectation of a tip at the end.

JOIN A TOUR
Our free walking tours run every day except Christmas Day. Pre-booking is recommended as the number of visitors each guide can take is limited.
WHEN
Twice daily, 364 days a year.
DURATION
Allow a little longer if the stories and questions are flowing.
MEETING POINT
Outside York Art Gallery, beside the William Etty statue.
PRICE
No admission charge and no tip is expected.
Bookings are currently managed through Eventbrite. Public bookings are limited to a maximum of six people. Educational group visits can be arranged separately.
